Self Proclaimed ‘Gau Rakshaks’ In Malegaon Mercilessly Thrash Meat Traders For Allegedly Possessing Beef

In the wake of the latest ban by the government on cattle slaughter, a video has surfaced online showing self proclaimed “gau rakshaks” or cow vigilante mercilessly thrashing two meat traders for allegedly possessing beef.

In the video, a group of men can be seen attacking the meat traders in Malegaon tehesil of Maharashtra’s Washim district and asking them to chant “Jai Sri Ram”.

The incident reportedly happened on Friday and according to India Today nine people have also been arrested in connection with the incident.

Mokshanda Patil, SP, Washim district claimed that seven people among the nine have been booked under various sections of the IPC whereas the other two have been booked under section 295a of the IPC.

He also added that the situation was under control and that the samples of the meat seized from the spot had been sent to a state laboratory in Nagpur for testing.
